Malkangiri : The district administration on Tuesday have cancelled 48 mining lease tenders for minor minerals following the recommendation of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Range).
The mining lease tenders for minor minerals have been cancelled by the Malkangiri district collector Vishal Singh.
The development comes after an investigation by the RDC into allegations levelled against the then Collector Yeddula Vijay over irregularities in the entire tender process for the mining lease in the district.
Odisha Pradesh Congress working president Pradip Majhi had alleged that Vijay received Rs one crore and the expensive vehicle as bribe for manipulating the tender process of Minor Mineral Sources (Sairat) held in March. He was also accused for taking the tender boxes home and keeping them for around three days.
As per reports, new tenders will be announced for the mining lease for minor minerals soon
