Paradip: The carcass of a whale shark around 17-ft long and 4-ft wide washed ashore was found near Ramtara village in Erasama coastline of Jagatsinghpur district on Sunday night.
It was found by the forest department officials during patrolling last night.
Meanwhile, the carcass of the whale shark has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the actual reason behind its death.
