Kendrapada : Forest personnel of Kanika forest Range Friday arrested three taxidermists for attempting to tap spotted deer in Bhitarkanika National Park and seized 15 deer trap,one cot net, and two billhook from their possessions.
Kanika forest Ranger Manas Kumar Das identified the accused as Shiba Prasad Tarai, Madhu Mahalik and Niranjan Mandal of Righagada village.
Mr Das said acting on a tip-off the anti poaching squad conducted a raid and arrested three poachers and seized the poaching equipment. But two others manged to flee from the spot.
All the three poachers were arrested under the offences of wildlife protection Act and they were produced before a local court .
The court remanded them in Jail Custody ,after rejecting their bail petitions.
