OTV announces Rs 20 lakh as compensation to the kin of Arindam Das

Bhubaneswar : Odisha Television (OTV) Ltd Co founder and Managing Director Jagi Mangat Panda today announced Rs 20 lakh as compensation to the family members of journalist Arindam Das.

Arindam Das, the Chief Reporter of OTV, died today while covering the rescue operation of a tusker in an ODRAF boat in Mahanadi river at Munduli Barrage in Cuttack.

Arindam died after the boat capsized.

While announcing the compensation Mrs Panda said no amount can fill the void created by the demise of Arindam.

‘ His family is now our family and we will take bear all their responsibility.”

She said Arindam was a fearless journalist. ” I have never seen a more fearless journalist than him anywhere in Odisha.”

” The demise of Arindam is an irreparable loss to the entire organisation and the state. There will never be another Arindam. I salute the mother who gave birth to such a brave jounalist,” she said.
