Bhubaneswar : The Forest department will investigate into the death of the elephant that was stuck in the swirling floodwaters of Mahanadi River near Mundali bridge, informed Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Wildlife on Wednesday
The department will begin the probe after getting the autopsy report of the wild animal, PCCF Shashi Paul added.
It is pertinent to mention that a regional news channel journalist and a member of the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) were killed after being swept away by waves during the rescue operation of the elephant stuck in the Mahanadi River on Friday (September 24).
