Odisha: Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Arun Sahu inaugurated Odisha’s first ‘Millet Shakti’ center at Krushi Bhavan on Friday. This Millet Shakti centre has been setup by Maa Shaktimayee women self-help group (SHG).
The new Millet Shakti center is a joint initiative by Odisha Millet Mission and Mission Shakti Department. The objective behind this initiative is to offer nutritious and tasty food items to the officers and personnel working at the Krushi Bhavan. The Millet Shakti center is a major step towards empowering women SHGs and giving them a new identity, the Department stated.
Secretary to Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, Suresh Kumar Vashishth and Director, Agriculture and Food Production Dr. M. Muthukumar were also present on the occasion. On the occasion, Sahu congratulated all members of the Women SHG and wishes a prosperous future for the new venture. The Minister thanked Odisha Millet Mission and Mission Shakti Department for the novel initiative.
Among others, Joint Director of Odisha Millet Mission Hiranjan Mahanta, Project Officer Kalpana Pradhan, State Coordinator Aseema Choudhury, district coordinators and other members of the Mission were present. Sahu also inaugurated a Cafeteria on the Bhubaneswar premises.
