UP Polls: SP’s Promises 25 Lakhs Compensation

Lucknow: If SP voted to power in the upcoming Assembly polls, then 25 lakhs will be given to families of farmers  died during the protests against the 3 farm laws. Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday promised this to people.

Yadav took to twitter and wrote that the life of the farmers is precious as they grow food-grains for the people.
“As soon as the Samajwadi Party government comes to power in 2022, a ‘Kisan Shahadat Samman Rashi’ of Rs 25 lakh will be given to all those farmers who died during the farm protests against farm laws,” Akhilesh Yadav tweeted in Hindi.

It is pertinent to mention that the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved bill to repeal the laws which had triggered massive protests by farmers.

The bill to scrap the farm laws would now be introduced in the winter session of the Parliament that commences on November 29. The state will go to polls early next year.
