UP Assembly Polls: 6 Yatras of BJP Lined-up

Lucknow: In view of the crucial 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, ruling BJP has decided to bring out six yatras from different corners of the state which will cover the entire 403 assembly segments.

The first yatra would start from December 7 next. All the yatras would be led by senior leaders including BJP national president J. P. Nadda, Union Home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister, Rajnath Singh and others. The decision was taken in the election steering committee of BJP held at the state party HQ on Tuesday.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who attended the meeting along with central election in-charge of UP and union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, announced that six yatras would be brought out by the party from next month.

According to party sources, the yatras will be taken out from Awadh, Kashi, Gorakhpur, Brij, Paschim and Bundelkhand region. Through these yatras, BJP will highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath governments. Big public rallies would also be held during these yatras.

In 2016, BJP had organized such Parivartan Yatras against the ruling Samajwadi Party government in UP before the 2017 assembly polls. CM Yogi Adityanath, who inaugurated the meeting of the BJP Assembly Election Steering Committee, said in the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP had gone to the public describing the shortcomings of the opposition.

“But today the party has five years of achievements. This time also the organization has made a detailed outline of its campaigning through its achievements. In this it has been decided that six yatras will be taken out from six corners of the state. The target of these yatras is to reach the population of 25 crores in a given time,” he said.

The Chief Minister said these yatras would end in Lucknow.
CM claimed that during his regime, a safe environment has been created in UP, while protecting the dignity of all faiths and religions. He said state government would be giving free double ration from December to March, 2022.

“About 15 crore people will get benefit in the state. Eligible beneficiaries will get 10 kg free ration in 1 unit every month, edible oil, salt and pulses will also be available free”, the CM said.

BJP State President Swatantra dev Singh said BJP is going to form the government once again with more than 300 seats on the strength of the workers and with the blessings of the people.
