Pradhan lays foundation stones for six mega projects for NIT Rourkela

Rourkela (Odisha), Nov 30 : Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan laid the foundation stone for six mega projects for the convenience of students at NIT, Rourkela, on Thursday.
These projects included a 1,000-seat dormitory at a cost of 77.53 crores, a 500-seat dormitory at a cost of 38.87 crores, a 1.5 MLD sewage treatment plant at a cost of 13.21 crores, and a faculty residence at a cost of 36.20 crores.
Similarly, a 500-bed dormitory will be constructed by MCL at a cost of 42.69 crores, and a 500-bed hostel will be constructed by the Ministry of Education for economically backward students.
Apart from this, the Union Minister also launched a new central school on the campus of NIT Rourkela.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan said that in 2036, Odisha will complete 100 years of the formation of a separate province as a linguistic state, while the country will complete 100 years of independence in 2047.
During this period of 13 and 25 years, 100 children should be made to earn 100 crore rupees, and educational institutions like NIT Rourkela have to take the lead to achieve this goal.
Describing NIT, Rourkela, as the glory of our country and an identity card of our state’s intellectual expression, Pradhan said about eight thousand students from abroad are studying at this educational institution.
He said that NIT, Rourkela, has a special identity on the list of engineering institutes in the country. There is a need to develop the NIT Rourkela New Education Model by involving local schools, colleges, and professional institutes.
