PM Modi conferred with Bhutan’s highest civilian award

Thimpu, Dec 17: Bhutan on Friday conferred the highest civilian award on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending “unconditional friendship” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering made the announcement regarding the Order of the Druk Gyalpo.
A Bhutanese government statement said the recognition was for India’s decision to help landlocked Bhutan during the pandemic.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier been recipients of highest civilian honours in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, UAE, Palestine, Bahrain, Maldives and Russia. He also received the Legion of Merit by the US Government in 2020.
