Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s visit to Kathmandu in Nepal to address a Nepali Congress convention stood cancelled as the All India Trinamool Congress chairperson didn’t get any clearance for her trip from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, media reported on Friday.
CM Banerjee had received an invitation from the Nepali Congress to address its convention on December 11 and she was supposed to fly on Friday (Today) for Kathmandu.
For this the CMO had sought permission from the Central government.
However, since the necessary permission was not received from the MEA, the visit of the Chief Minister to Kathmandu was cancelled, report added. Before this Mamata Banerjee couldn’t go to China and Rome owing to denial of permission from the concerned authorities in New Delhi.
