Mah: Aurangabad remembers martyrs of 26/11 terror attacks

Aurangabad: The police fraternity as well as several political and social outfits here on Friday observed the 13th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

City police commissioner Dr. Nikhil Gupta and other top cops gathered at the police headquarters and paid floral tributes to the uniformed personnel who were killed in action.

The mourners remembered Major Sandip Unnikrishnan, ATS chief Hemant Karkare, ACP Ashok Kamte, Inspector Vijay Salaskar and constable Tukaram Ombale and others who laid down their lives while taking Mumbai back from the band of Pakistani terrorists.

Similar function was also held at the Rural SPs office where the police personnel paid homage to the brave-hearts.
Meanwhile, political and social outfits erected stages, placed portraits of the martyrs and sang patriotic songs in their memory. The other seven districts of Marathwada also observed such in memoriam functions.
