Kolhapur: A team of Crime Branch of Mumbai Police on Wednesday seized narcotic drugs and raw materials collectively worth Rs. 2.35 crore from a farm house at Dholkarwadi village in Chandgad tehsil of the district, establishing its direct link to last month’s high-profile Mumbai cruise drug bust case, and two arrested in this connection.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, deputy commissioner of police Datta Nalavade said that during questioning of a woman arrested in drug case lead, Crime Branch teams rushed to Dholkarwadi. They raided a farm house near the village on ‘Ghali’ road and detained six persons, including caretaker of farm house Nikhil Lohar.
During a thorough investigation, police received a shocking information from Lohar who said that owner of the farm house Rajkumar Rajhans, who is a lawyer by profession in Mumbai, was commuting frequently from Mumbai to Dholkarwadi with drugs materials to make new MDMA drugs and after that, carry the same to Mumbai for the sale.
Lohar used to help him in both preparation and supply of drugs, police said. Giving further details, Nalavade said that the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Bandra police in Mumbai had arrested the woman with 50 gram MDMA drug, which she had procured from Dholkarwadi. Acting on this information, Mumbai Crime Branch teams went to Dholkarwadi for in-depth investigation and during the search operation of the farm house, police team found total 38.700 Kg MDMA drug and raw materials including 39 liter chemicals, collectively worth Rs. 2.35 crore, he added.
