Incident of cocktail in Ranchi as woman given first dose of Covaxin, second of Covishield

Ranchi, Jul 11 : The state capital on Sunday witnessed an incident of Cocktail of Covid vaccine as a woman who had taken first dose of Covaxin was given Covishield in the second dose, official sources said.
Soon after the vaccination the health condition of the woman declined and she was hospitalised where the doctors are keeping an eye on the situation. The woman Sheela Devi of Shivaji Nagar has taken first dose of Covaxin and after a month she had reached at the advance diagnostic centre to take the second dose of the vaccine.
At the centre the health worker without asking her gave her Covishield in the second dose after which she started breathing difficulties and she fell unconscious. She was immediately rushed to hospital where she was being treated under the supervision of the doctors.
The hospital accepted that the mistake had been made at the center but claimed that immediately experts were consulted. The hospital authorities have maintained that there have been many instances of similar magnitude in the country where no side effect has been seen but the doctors were keeping an eye on the condition of the patient.
