More than 15K students applied for offline matriculation exam in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jul 16 : A total of 15,155 students have applied for Class 10 offline examinations scheduled to be held from July 30 to August 5, informed the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha.

The form fill-up process for the Matric offline examination was conducted between July 5 -14. No examination fee was charged from the students for filling the form.

Out of 15,155 students, around 6,596 students have applied to appear for annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination, a total of 8,493 for State Open School certificate examination and 66 for Madhyama examination, a data revealed by the BSE informed.

Out of the 6,596 students who have applied to appear for annual HSC, 2,244 students were not satisfied by the marks awarded to them through alternative assessment method adopted by the BSE in view of the cancellation of Matriculation examination in the State following the outbreak of second wave of Coronavirus Pandemic.

The BSE had earlier said that the Class 10 examination for both regular and ex-regular students will be held simultaneously in one sitting from 10 am to 12 noon. 

As per the schedule, the question pattern will be the same for regular and ex-regular students in first language, second language, third language and mathematics subjects.

However, there will be separate question papers for regular and ex-regular students in general science and social science subjects. The students will be provided extra 15 minutes during mathematics examination.
