Kanpur, 23 Dec : A lawyer was shot dead by unidentified persons in Ganga Nagar area under Nawabganj police station, police informed on Thursday.
Police said that unidentified persons called lawyer Rajaram Verma (65) out of his house late last night on the pretext of giving some papers. When Rajaram came out they shot him and escaped.
After hearing gunshots Rajaram’s family came out of the house and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a private nursing home in Sarvoday Nagar area where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said that CCTV footages of the vicinity were being collected and the accused will be arrested soon, police said.
