Mumbai : The Rupee on Thursday surged 20 paise to close positive at 74.77 against the greenback on selling of US Dollar by bankers and exporters amid rebounding equity market, dealers at the forex market said.
In the opening session, the local unit rose by 13 paise at 74.84. Till the end of the session, it was rallied by 20 paise to close high at 74.77 as compared to its previous close.
The Rupee improved today after a gap of a week due to weak dollar against other world currencies.
The local unit registered days high and low at 74.74 and 74.92 respectively.
