MBBS Student Does Hard Labour To Fund Education

Bhubaneswar: A tribal youth from Kandhamal district of Odisha who had studied hard to get admission into an MBBS course is now finding hard to pursue his studies due to his poor financial condition.

Ifu Mallick, a native of Bagramila village under Mediakia police limits is a first year MBBS student of Saheed Laxman Nayak (SLN) Medical College and Hospital, Koraput.

Son of a poor farmer, Ifu is a meritorious student who successfully cleared the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) to get admission in the MBBS course.

However, he is yet to attend his classes as his family is unable to fund the college and hostel fees. In order to collect the funds needed to pursue his education, Ifu is now working in farmland or taking up various odd jobs.
