On the basis of reliable information, special Task Force (STF) officials with the help of Forest personnel of Boudh Forest Division conducted a raid on Wednesday evening near Boudh Bypass road PS conducted a raid.
The arrestees have been identified as Uchhab Kanhar and Prasant Kumar Behera from Tikripada under Baghiapada Police station in Boudh District.
The STF got a tip-off regarding dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals, as a result of two wildlife criminals namely Uchhab Kanhar S/o. Bighna Kanhar of Jamukhol, Tikripada, Dhadalapada PO: Baghiapada PS. Boudh Dist. Boudh and Prasant Kumar Behera S/o. Ugrasen Behera of Jamukhol, Tikripada, Dhadalapada PO: Baghiapada PS. Boudh Dist. Boudh were apprehended.
Following this, a Case under Sec.51 of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 has been registered and the accused persons will be forwarded to the Court of SDJM, Boudh. The Live Pangolins were also handed over to DFO Boudh for safe custody.
