Odisha vigilance recovers over Rs 3 cr cash from Nabarangpur Assistant Sub Collector

Bhubaneswar, June 23: The sleuths of Odisha Vigilance on Friday unearthed over Rs three crore in cash during a house search of an Odisha Administrative Officer of Nabarangpur.


Vigilance sources here said on the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets by Prasanta Kumar out, Additional Sub Collector, Nabarangpur, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by Vigilance at 9 locations by as many teams of Vigilance consisting of two Additional SPs seven DSPs, eight Inspectors and other staff.


The searches were made at the double-storeyed residential house at Kanan Vihar in Bhubaneswar, his office chamber at Nabarangpur, and the parental house at Bahudarada, in Bhadrak district.
In addition to it, searches are being conducted at 5 other locations of acquaintances of Rout.
Vigilance sources said so far during the search, while approximately Rs 2.25 crore was recovered from the Bhubaneswar residence of Rout, Rs 77 lakh was recovered from his Nabarangpur residence.
More assets are likely to be unearthed, vigilance sources said.
