This has come out as one of the most revealing statements from the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thakrey. He has alleged that, his party’s alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party was not only most destructive as an alliance but the latter tried to destroy the Shiv Sena in Maharastra. The Shiv Sena suffered the ills of such an alliance for 25 years, Thakrey said.
BJP’s obsessive agenda to push the Hindutva agenda had been proved a disaster for the BJP in Maha and somehow the Shiv Sena could escape the pangs of the Hindutva drive in 2019 and could stitch an alliance with the Congress and the NCP which has proved good for Maharastra politics.
Now, Thakrey said, that the Shiv Sena would expand its sphere of politics beyond Maharshtra and aim for a national outreach.
Thakrey’s revelation at this juncture can be seen as politically damaging for the BJP which still tries to recapture power in Maharashtra.
