ACC clears major rejig of top bureaucrats, Air India Chairman appointed as Civil Aviation Secretary

New Delhi : In a major rejig at the top, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved posting of senior bureaucrats.

As per an order issued by a government notification, Air India Chairman Rajiv Bansal has been appointed as secretary in the Civil Aviation Ministry. Senior IAS officer Govind Mohan has been named as secretary Ministry of Culture.

Mohan is currently additional secretary in the Department of Home.

Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer K Rajaraman has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications.

Rajaraman is currently Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance.

Anurag Jain, a 1989 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre has been cleared for Secretary in the crucial Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Devendra Kumar Singh, Kerala cadre officer, currently posted as additional secretary and development commissioner in MSME ministry, has been appointed as Secretary in Ministry of Cooperation headed by Amit Shah.

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of nearly a dozen IAS officers.
