Former Odisha Youth Congress President Sangam Jena dies of post covid complications
Bhubaneswar : Former Odisha Youth Congress President Sangram Keshari Jena
passed away this morning while undergoing treatment for post covid complications at a private
hospital in Hyderabad.
He was 44
Sangram’s younger brother Manoj Jena said he died following a massive heart attack.
Son of former OPCC President Jayadeva Jena, the youth congress leader was airlifted
to Hyderabad on May 23 last for ECMO treatment after he developed post covid
complications.
Sangram had held the posts of state Youth Congress General Secretary, and Vice President
of the Youth wing for a brief period.
OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik, Senior Congress leader Narasinha Mishra, Suresh Chandra Routray, former MP Ramachandra Khuntia condoled the death.
Congress party sources said the body of Sangram Jena would be brought to Bhubaneswar
from Hyderabad this evening.
His body would be brought to Congress Bhawan from the Biju Patnaik Airport in a procession.
Later the body would be taken to his residence in Surya Nagar and would be kept there to help
people pay their last homage.
The last rites of Sangram Jena would be performed at his native place at Anandpur in Keonjhar
district tomorrow.
