Delhi Court Issues Warrants Against 2 Police Officials For Absence, Asks For Explanation Report
New Delhi, April 16: A Delhi Court after hearing issued bailable warrants against two police officials who neglected to appear before the court despite repeated directions. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Arun Garg after hearing the matter said despite the repeated call investigating officers (IOs) have neglected the order of the court and failed to appear before the court even directed to DCP as well as Delhi Court.
The Court said even a Pairvi Officer is not present despite repeated directions to Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) to depute the same for this court. The Court said in case DCP and the SCP wish to avail the opportunity of personal hearing, they are at liberty to remain present on the next date, failing to which no further opportunity of personal hearing will be given and appropriate order as per the law will be passed in the matter after consideration of their explanations in writing.
The Court passed an order that an explanation in writing be filed from DCP as well as Special Commissioner of Police under their signatures duly forwarded by Delhi Commissioner of Police as to why a reference for initiation of contempt of court proceedings be not made against them to Delhi High Court.
