Keonjhar Lady Doctor Died Of Poisoning, Reveals Autopsy
Bhubaneswar: The autopsy report of Dr Subhashree Kar, who was found dead in her quarter at Baneikala under Joda police limits in Keonjhar district on January 1, has revealed that she died due to poisoning.
The autopsy was conducted on Monday at the Keonjhar district headquarters hospital (DHH). It was determined that Kar had ingested a poisonous substance, the exact type of which is still unknown.
Kar was employed at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Baneikala. On January 1, her body was found in her room located on the PHC premises. Police recovered a bottle from her room containing white powder. The bottle and the viscera will be sent to the forensic laboratory in Bhubaneswar for further examination.
Earlier on 20 December 2022, Kar had filed a complaint against a male doctor Dibyaranjan Majhi, accusing him of raping her on the false promise of marriage, only to later withdraw her complaint.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case of unnatural death and investigating the matter, attempting to find out whether Kar committed suicide or if there was an external factor involved in her death. No arrests have been made so far.
