Sundargarh: An elderly woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant while another person was injured at Kulba village under Ujalpur Forest Range in Sundargarh district on Thursday morning.
Reportedly, the elephant has been roaming in the nearby forest. While living in the forest during the day, it sneaks into the village at night. The incident occurred after the forest department personnel doing night patrolling in the area returned at dawn.
This is the second such incident in a week. An elderly woman had been trampled to death by an elephant in the village on October 14.
