Jharsuguda, June 3: People of Brajrajnagar voted for me because of the work done by my husband during his tenure as MLA for around 2.5 years, said BJD candidate Alka Mohanty who has won the by-poll with massive support.
Alka Mohanty also thanked BJD supremo and the CM Odisha Naveen Patnaik for showing faith on her for this ever-cherished moment of both personal and political Life.

As expected the results from the Brajarajnagar by-elections went in favour of the Biju Janata Dal candidate Alaka Mohanty who has crushed her rivals with a massive victory on Friday.
In this battle of nerves, there is little disappointment for the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has lost its position of a runner up and the Congress has made it to the second after a long time.
The bye-pol in Brajarajnagar was necessitated post the death of Kishore Mohanty, of the BJD sometime back. Alaka Mohanty is the wife of Kishore Mohanty who had been pitched for the MLA post by CM Naveen Patnaik.
