Kalyani Steel Signs MoU with Odisha Government for Aerospace and Automotive Manufacturing Complex

Bhubaneswar: Kalyani Steel, a leading player in the steel industry, has forged a strategic partnership with the Government of Odisha to establish a Titanium Metal & Aerospace Components Manufacturing, and Integrated Advanced Specialty Steel and Automotive Components Manufacturing Complex in the state. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, marking a significant step towards advancing Odisha’s industrial landscape.

The proposed manufacturing complex, slated to be situated at Gajamara in Dhenkanal, underscores Kalyani Steel’s entry into Odisha and reflects the company’s commitment to leveraging emerging opportunities in the region. With an investment of Rs 11,750 crore, the project is poised to generate over 10,000 employment opportunities, contributing substantially to job creation in Odisha.

Expressing his optimism about the collaboration, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized its alignment with the state’s vision of fostering growth in high-skill sectors. He remarked, “By embracing Kalyani Steel’s project, which encompasses a Titanium Metal and Alloy Mill, an Aerospace Components Facility, and an Integrated Automotive Component Unit, Odisha marks a significant stride in the advanced and precision manufacturing sector.”

Highlighting the project’s potential to catalyze the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Chief Minister Patnaik underscored its role in nurturing a vibrant ecosystem of ancillary industries and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) suppliers. He reiterated the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for new-age industries, emphasizing the project’s transformative impact on the state’s industrial landscape.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Patnaik lauded Kalyani Steel’s focus on skill development, emphasizing its role in enhancing the capabilities of the local workforce in advanced manufacturing sectors such as metal downstream, automotive, and defence manufacturing.

Amit Kalyani, Director of Kalyani Steels Limited, hailed the partnership as a significant milestone in the company’s longstanding association with Odisha. He expressed confidence in the project’s ability to foster mutual growth and prosperity, highlighting Kalyani Steel’s commitment to driving economic development and innovation in the region.
