26 Tomato Flu Cases Detected In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 24: The State Health director today informs about 26 kids being detected with ‘Tomato Flu’ or HFMD across Odisha.

According to reports, all the infected kids are in 1-9 years age group.

While 19 of them are identified from Bhubaneswar, 2 are from Khordha, 3 from Puri and 2 from Cuttack, said the senior official.

Tomato flu is a viral disease which causes red rashes, skin irritation, and dehydration.

Tomato flu has some symptoms similar to that of Chikungunya, such as high fever, body ache, joint swelling, fatigue.

Abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, discolouration of the hands, knees, buttocks are some other symptoms.

On the other hand, the exact cause behind the disease is not yet known and health officials are still investigating the main causes of Tomato fever.
