Massive 7.6-magnitude earthquake hits southern Philippines

Beijing, Dec 2 : A 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck waters off Mindanao Island in southern Philippines at 10:37 p.m. Saturday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 8.65 degrees north latitude and 126.45 degrees east longitude.

The quake struck at a depth of 40 km, said the CENC.
