Three arrested at IGI airport for traveling abroad without POE clearance

New Delhi, Nov 26 : Three people including two agents who dodged immigration by trying to travel abroad without Protector of Emigrants clearance were arrested by IGI Airport Police on Friday.
The men, identified as Navidad Khan (27) resident of Uttar Pradesh, Zuber (30) from Delhi and Abad Tyagi (36) from Muzzafar Nagar in UP, were arrested and lodged a case of cheating under 417/120-B IPC and 12 PP Act at IGI Airport police station Delhi on Sunday, said Amit Goel, DCP, IGI Airport, Delhi.
The police said on Saturday, Navidad intending to board IndiGo flight to UAE, arrived at IGI Airport, where he was intercepted by the Immigration officials and checked his Passport which was found tempered with and not having page number 7 and 8.
It was found that on November 15, he was intending to travel to Saudi Arabia on a work visa and his passport category was Emigrant Check Required (ECR). However, he was not having possession of mandatory E-migrant (POE) clearance. Hence, the case was registered at IGI Airport PS and a probe was initiated.
During the interrogation, it was disclosed that he came in contact with agents Zuber and Tyagi, who allured him for better job prospects in Gulf countries and arranged for his journey for Rs 1.10 lakh. When he was offloaded he approached the agents. They removed the page of Passport as the passport was having the cancellation stamp of immigration department affixed on it, said Goel.
On the basis of the input, a raid was conducted and both, Zuber and Khan, were arrested on Sunday, on the instance of Zuber, the mastermind of the case Tyagi was also arrested on Tuesday, said police.
The police said Tyagi is the mastermind of the racket and was running a racket providing jobs in gulf countries without the Protector of Emigrants POE clearance. He used to identify the poor and uneducated labourers, who were willing to go to foreign countries and allure them to provide good jobs in gulf countries, said Goel.
