Beguniapada BSSO Caught While Accepting Bribe

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended the Beguniapada Block Social Security Officer (BSSO) in Ganjam district, for demanding and accepting Rs 6,000 bribe from a complainant for submitting inquiry reports in the latter’s favour and other eligible applicants for sanction of old age pension under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY Scheme) pending with him for a long time.

The BSSO has been identified as Arun Nayak.

Following the demand, the complainant approached the Vigilance Authority. Today, Nayak was trapped by the Vigilance team while accepting the bribe. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of the Nayak and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 3 locations of Nayak from DA angle.

In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 05/23 U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Nayak.
