Odisha: STF arrest two drug peddlers

Bhubaneswar, Sep 2 : The STF of Odisha police has apprehended two drug peddlers and seized contraband brown sugar (Heroin) weighing 1080 gm and other incriminating materials from their possession.
STF sources here said on Saturday that, on the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a team of STF in Bhubaneswar near Uttara-Pipli on the evening of September 1.
The raid was conducted against illegal dealing and possession of narcotic drugs. During the raid, two drug peddlers identified as Lipun Pandey and Sk Abbash were apprehended.
During the search, contraband brown sugar (heroin) weighing 1 kg, 080 gram (1080gm) and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from their possession.
The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which they were arrested and will be forwarded to the court of District and Sessions, Spl. Judge, Puri.
The STF has registered cases U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 against the two arrested drug peddlers.
Since 2020, STF has seized more than 72 kg of brown sugar or heroin, 202 grams of cocaine, more than 116 quintals of nja or marijuana, 75 750 grams of opium, and arrested more than 178 drug dealers or peddlers.
The STF also destroyed more than 62 kg of seized brown sugar in last year.
