Brie Larson Joins ‘Fast And Furious’ Family
Los Angeles, April 10: Adding to the roster of ever expanding list of members full of speed and energy, the newest member of the Fast and the Furious family is Brie Larson, who was introduced to fold by Vin Diesel and is best known for playing Captain Marvel in the Marvel films.
The actor, known for playing lead protagonist ‘Dominic Toretto’ in the long-running Universal film franchise, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a photo of himself with the Oscar winning actress.
Brie’s announcement in Fast 10 is preceded by Jason Momoa who had joined the set in March. Franchise mainstays Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Sung Kang will return, and Charlize Theron, who joined the series in the eighth film, is expected to appear as well. F9, the fifth film in the franchise with Lin at the helm, hit theaters on June 24 after its release was delayed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
During an interview with Uproxx that published in February and was timed to her Nissan ad airing during this year’s Super Bowl, Larson replied “one hundred percent” when asked whether it has been a dream of hers to appear in a Fast and Furious movie.
“Please, please tell everybody I would, of course, want to be in a Fast & Furious movie,” she gushed at the time. “I’m obsessed. I love them. I think they’re so good. They’re so fun. And they’ve made me appreciate cars. And it’s something that should be appreciated. They’re incredible. So of course, please.” Fast 10 is the upcoming 10th installment to the Fast and Furious franchise. Directed by Justin Lin it is scheduled for release on May 19, 2023.
