Odisha To Emerge As Top 5 Data Centres Of The Country By 2025
Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: Odisha government has approved the Odisha Data centre Policy 2022 with an objective to make the state a data centre hub by 2025.
The decision was taken at the state Cabinet meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday. State Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Bikram Keshari Arukh informed the state Assembly on Monday that the state plans to place Odisha in the list of top five data centres of the country.
In another decision the cabinet approved a proposal to extend the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Generation (KALIA ) scheme by three more years. The Scheme was launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in December 2018 and is to be over by March 31 next.
The cabinet approved a proposal to spend Rs. 5933.31. crore for proper implementation of the KALIA scheme over 2021-22 to 2023-24 financial year. It aimed at increasing the income of the farmers and strengthening their socio-economic development. All beneficiaries of the KALIA scheme would be benefited by it, Arukh said.
The cabinet also approved the Rs. 161.15 crore tender proposal of M/s Iron Triangle Ltd to set up a 650 bedded hospital at Bhawanipatna. The work has been targeted to be completed in 30 months. The cabinet also approved the minimum tender proposal of Rs. 92.74 crore for the construction of 30 to 45 km of canal of Baisinga Sasan canal under Subarnarekha irrigation project in Mayurbhanj district.
The project has been targeted to be completed in 24 months and would irrigate 8182 hectares of land in Mayurbhanj. A proposal to make the Nabakrushna Choudhury Irrigation development program operational in next five years with an investment of Rs. 823.45 crore also received the cabinet nod. This apart the cabinet approved Rs. 114.20 crore minimum tender proposal of M/S URC Construction Pvt Ltd for the development of Ma Samaleswari temple on turnkey basis. The work would be completed within 18 months. The minimum Rs. 102.40 crore tender proposal of M/s B C Bhuyan Construction Pvt Ltd for the development of Puri town on turnkey basis under the ABADHA Scheme has also been approved by the cabinet.
