Brajrajnagar By-poll: Counting Of Votes Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar, June 2: Counting of votes of the by-election to Brajrajnagar Assembly constituency in Odisha will start at 8 AM on Friday, State Chief Electoral Officer S K Lohani said here on Thursday.

Lohani told news persons that first the counting of postal ballots will be done and after 30 minutes the votes in EVM would be taken up for counted.

The VVPAT slips of five booths will also be taken up, he said.Brajrajnagar By-poll, counting on Friday, Brajrajnagar Assembly constituency in Odisha, 20 Micro Observers, 20 Counting Supervisors and 20 Counting Assistants deployed

As many as 20 Micro Observers, 20 Counting Supervisors and 20 Counting Assistants have been deployed for counting of votes.

Three level security arrangements have been made for the smooth counting of votes.

CEO office sources said 71.53 percent of the total 2,14,878 voters have exercised their franchise on May 31 by election to the Brajrajnagar Assembly seat.

The by-election was necessitated following the demise of sitting BJD MLA Kishore Chandra Mohanty in December 2021. His widow Alaka Mohanty is among 11 candidates contesting the by-election on ruling BJD ticket.
