PM Modi tweets about Unveiling Mega Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs 68,400 Crore in Odisha

Sambalpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a visit to Odisha on Saturday, aiming to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for an array of infrastructure projects amounting to a staggering Rs 68,400 crore. The visit, scheduled to commence around 11.30 am, promises to be a landmark event with a focus on boosting the state’s energy, coal, connectivity, and railway sectors.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister expressed his anticipation, stating, “On the way to Sambalpur, Odisha. I look forward to being among the people there. It is a matter of immense joy that development works worth over Rs. 68,000 crore will be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These works are linked to the energy, coal, connectivity, railways, and more.”

The extensive list of projects to be unveiled includes:

  1. Inauguration of Ib Valley Washery
  2. Inauguration of the 2nd Track of Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega rail line Phase-I
  3. Laying the foundation stone for Railway projects worth Rs 2146 Crore
  4. Inauguration of the Campus of IIM Sambalpur
  5. Inauguration of Dhamra-Angul Pipeline Section JHBDPL
  6. Laying the foundation stone of Nagpur Jharsurguda Natural Gas Pipeline Section of Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline
  7. Laying the foundation stone of multiple Power projects worth Rs 28,980 Crore
  8. Laying the foundation stone of Talabira Thermal Power project
  9. Inauguration of infrastructure projects of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited

In the energy sector, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the ‘Dhamra-Angul Pipeline Section’ of the ‘Jagdishpur-Haldia and Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline Project,’ connecting Odisha to the National Gas Grid. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the ‘Nagpur Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline Section’ of the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline, enhancing natural gas availability to multiple states.

In the power sector, PM Modi is set to dedicate and lay the foundation stone for multiple projects collectively valued at around Rs 28,980 crore. These include the NTPC Darlipali Super Thermal Power Station, NSPCL Rourkela PP-II Expansion Project, and the NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project, Stage-III. These initiatives aim to provide affordable and reliable power to Odisha and neighboring states.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate coal infrastructure projects of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, enhance road connectivity through National Highway projects, and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for railway projects, all contributing to the region’s economic development.

The visit will also witness the Prime Minister inaugurating the permanent campus of IIM-Sambalpur, underlining the government’s commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure. Additionally, the Jharsuguda Head Post Office Heritage Building will be dedicated to the nation during the event.

With this ambitious undertaking, the Prime Minister seeks to propel Odisha’s growth trajectory, bolster connectivity, and reinforce the nation’s commitment to economic development and progress. The projects announced are expected to play a pivotal role in energizing the state’s infrastructure and enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents.
