Breaking: Naveen abolishes 23 posts of advisors, chairmen

Bhubaneswar, Jun 5 : In a major political decision, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has abolished 23 posts of Advisors/Chairpersons of different departments, corporations and boards. The order was issued late Saturday night, soon after Patnaik asked all the 20 Ministers of his Government to step down to enable him to form a new cabinet.

An order issued by the state Planning & Convergence department said as per the Chief Minister’s directive, 23 Advisors, Chairpersons of different departments, corporations and Boards shall cease to exist with effect from June 5 (Sunday). The government had appointed over 30 BJD leaders as Advisors, Chairpersons of various Government departments, corporations and boards in August, 2019 in a bid to rehabilitate those who were not given party tickets for the Assembly election that year.
