Schools Reopen In Odisha Today With Changed Timings Amid Heatwave

Bhubaneswar: After being closed in view of the heatwave situation, schools reopened in Odisha on Monday with revised timings. The government decided to reopen the schools.

All the government schools, government-aided schools and private schools in Odisha have been directed to hold morning classes for students up to Class-XII from 6.30 am to 11 am.

Meanwhile, the School and Mass Education Department has advised educational institutions to take precautions to deal with the extreme temperature. They have been directed to prepare glucose and ORS solutions for students, ensure the availability of drinking water and limit outdoor activities to prevent exposure to heatwave conditions.

“The schools have been directed to arrange drinking water and other facilities for their students,” he added.

Notably, the government had announced the closure of all schools and Anganwadi Centres in Odisha till April 16 in view of the heatwave condition in the state.
