Sidhu resigns as Punjab Congress chief
New Delhi : Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as the president of Punjab Congress, amid speculations over former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh joining the BJP.
In his resignation letter, he said: “The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab.”
He added: “I will continue to serve Congress”.
It came as former chief minister Amarinder Singh was visiting Delhi amid speculations of him meeting Home Minister Amit Shah. Singh’s media advisor Raveen Thukral said he was heading to Delhi on a personal visit.
