Machkund police have seized a huge cache of ganja from a house at Khadaput village in Koraput district on Wednesday. The ganja was stored at Ghenu’s house and was to be transported outside the state.
Acting on a tip-off, the cops conducted a raid at a house and seized around 1259 kg of ganja which was stored for transportation to other states.
The estimated value of the seized contraband is around Rs 1 crore, officials informed.
While the accused managed to give the cops a slip and fled to a nearby jungle, Machkund police in the district registered a case (32/2023) under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act in this connection.
