In a shocking incident, a man was allegedly thrashed to death by his in-laws at Chabripali village under Khaprakhol police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district, last night.
The incident has been reported from Chabiripali village under Khaprakhol police limits of Patnagarh a town and Notified Area Council (NAC) in Bolangir district of Odisha.
The body was seized by police while being attempted to be dumped in a sack.
The deceased was identified as Rudra Meher of Rajabhatipada village under Padampur police limits in Bargarh district.
According to reports, Rudra had married Sarojini Meher of Chabripali while a family dispute was prevailing between the two after the marriage. Subsequently, Sarojini came to her father’s place and started residing there.
In a bid to persuade Sarojini to live with him, Rudra had come to his in-laws’ house. An argument ensued between him and his in-laws’, last night. The matter turned ugly as his in-laws beat him to death.
In order to eliminate evidence of the crime, the accused packed the body in a sack and were taking it in a van for disposal when police intercepted the vehicle.
On searching the van, cops found the body, recovered it for post-mortem and detained the accused for questioning.
