However, now the Orissa High Court has flayed the department with stronger words asking an immediate assessment to be produced before the honourable court.
As such the noble profession of doctors has somehow earned a dubious name to have become an alleged profession of money making mainly by the private hospitals where a patient dreads to walk in in fear of expenses to face for the treatments.
At the same time, there is a notorious trend of people with no knowledge, whatsoever, take the plunge into the medical profession without any qualification and have already created sanctuary of quacks ruling the roost in many parts of Odisha.
A shockingly unacceptable reality that still exists and the government machinery has so far not been able to identify such fake practitioners.
Mostly, in the interior parts of Odisha suck fake doctors have a good presence where proper medical facilities are unavailable.
Regardless of their place of origin, they reign as doctors in many areas. And what was found that, most of them have no medical qualification at all yet they somehow peddle their dangerous trade without fear of the law.
In many cases the district or local authorities simply plead their ignorance of such fake physicians, a typical re-active mind-set prevalent with many authorities who remain in a domain of pretensions or pure lies.

The Court statement read that, it should be informed about the detail of such fake professionals and what actions are being taken to punish such masquerading lot as doctors.
Simple things is that, if the government-run hospitals are equipped with the basic facilities for treatment and have the required no of doctors, the quacks and other fake people masking as doctors would not have a space.
