Another political carpet bombing: War of words between Mohan Bhagwat and AIMIM chief Owaisi

It was not for nothing that the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has triggered a carpet bombing by saying in a few words that, ‘conditions’, are there for the Muslims in India to get citizenship.

That was an absolutely, perhaps, unacceptable word for the minorities, which was voiced through the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and MP of Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi. He has said that, no conditions from anyone is required for the Muslims in India to be obliged by certain ‘conditions’ to become citizens.

It has become a war of words now that may have bad repercussions among communities and if it was said by the RSS chief with the 2024 polls in mind then that too may lead to further deterioration of the harmony.

In fact, the statement with the word ‘conditions’ has triggered the debate and may lead to a kind of disquiet if it is not handled well in time.

That was in an interview in two magazines Organiser and Panchajanya wherein Bhagwat was quoted to have said that, the Muslims in India “must abandon their boisterous rhetoric of supremacy” in order to live in India.

The AIMIM chief even dared Bhagwat saying that, “who is Mohan to give Muslims ‘permission’ to live in India or follow our faith” and he added that, nobody can tell us to ‘adjust’ our faith or please a bunch of celibates in Nagpur’.

“There is no harm to Muslims living today in Bharat. If they wish to stick to their faith, they can. If they want to return to the faith of their ancestors, they may. It is entirely their choice. There is no such stubbornness among Hindus. Islam has nothing to fear. But at the same time, Muslims must abandon their boisterous rhetoric of supremacy.” Bhagwat has said.

Whatever, such kind of confabulations from either side is not conducive to the present state when there is an urgent need of a social harmony.
