New Delhi, Jan 12 : A Delhi Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail application of accused Shankar Mishra, arrested on the allegations of urinating on a woman passenger in Air India flight between New York and Delhi.
The court had ordered 14 days judicial custody of the accused Shankar Mishra on January, 07.
It is alleged that Mishra had urinated on a 70 years old woman in an intoxicated condition in business class of an Air India flight on November 26, 2022.
Delhi Police has registered an FIR under various sections of Indian Penal Code(IPC) and Indian Aircraft Act against Mishra and arrested Mishra from Bengaluru.
Metropolitan Magistrate Komal Garg after hearing the prosecution and defence counsel dismissed the bail application of the accused.
Counsel for accused Shankar submitted that the accused is not having any criminal antecedent and is not in a position to influence the witnesses. He submitted that no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping him behind bars.
Police has submitted that Shankar Mishra has been non-cooperative and was deliberately not joining the investigation. He further submitted if he released on bail he can influence the witnesses.
