Bhubaneswar: Several members of Odisha Chhatra Congress scuffled with police during an attempt to gherao Naveen Nivas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
The agitators pelted eggs and tomatoes on police as the latter tried to stop them while while trying to break barricade on the way to Naveen Nivas. Several Congress activists were detained by police.
The Congress is staging protest demanding proper investigation into the death of Nimapara’s Zilla Parishad Member Dharmendra Sahoo. They are also demanding the resignation of School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.
