EOW arrests absconding Director of Real Estate Company on charge of cheating
Bhubaneswar, Oct 2 : Economic Offences Wing, (EOW)Bhubaneswar has arrested another absconding Director of M/s Odyssa Home & Commercials Pvt. Ltd. a Real Estate company on the charge of cheating several investors to the tune of more than Rs 20 crore. EOW sources on Sunday said Manoj Kumar Panda one of the accused Directors of the Real Estate company was arrested on Saturday from Annavaram Police station area of Kakinada District, in Andhra Pradesh with the help of Andhra Pradesh Police .
Many incriminating documents like agreements, money receipts have also been seized. Panda was produced before Judicial Magistrate of 1st Class Court of Prathipadu, East Godabari and was brought on transit remand to Bhubaneswar for his production before the jurisdictional court i.e. OPID Court, Cuttack.
Aurobindo Santra, the MD of the company has already been arrested in the case earlier and now in judicial custody. LOC was issued against accused Manoj Kumar Panda by the Bureau of Immigration on the request of EOW, BBSR. Manoj Kumar was heading all affairs of the company and has cheated many investors in their different projects in the name of giving flats/lands. The above referred case has been registered on the basis of the allegation of Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, an employee of TCS regarding cheating to him and many other investors to the tune of Rs.20 Crores by the Directors of M/s Odyssa Homes & Commercials Pvt. Ltd. on the pretext of providing them dispute free flats in its Apartment Project namely, ‘Ganapati Homes’ located in Sampur Mouza, Bhubaneswar .
