Sambalpur : Rairkhol forest personnel on Wednesday arrested 36 people from Jharkhand engaged in felling trees in Taal village of the division and constructing houses.
All of them were arrested for cutting trees and make forest habitable for them without any permission from any competent authority
As per information, the forest personnel went to Taal village and found the intruders inside the forest and arrested 32 persons belonging to Jharkhand and four local persons who invited them to come and settle in the forest,DFO of Rairakhol Ramkrishna Nayak said.
This has been a regular practice in Girishchandra area But this time they tried to enter into areas nearer to Rairakhol.
Mr.Nayak said the local police have been“ informed and they have assured to help .
The DFO said nearly 60 forest staff successfully arrested them under forest protection and wildlife Act,” The forest staff also demolished all the temporary houses constructed by them and forwarded them to local court today.
