GoI recognizes 15 ‘Unsung Heroes’ from Arunachal
Itanagar, Aug 16 : Arunachal Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Tuesday said that 15 ‘Unsung Heroes’ from Arunachal Pradesh have been recognized by the Government of India, following completion of year-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of Independence.
“It is a matter of great pride for every people of Arunachal Pradesh, as on the completion of year-long celebration of 75th years of Indian Independence, the Govt of India has recognised 15 Unsung Heroes from Arunachal,” he informed and added that their names have been uploaded in the web portal of unsung heroes by the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India.
The Dy CM made this revelation while addressing a public meeting at Yatdam circle in Changlang district after inaugurating 11 infrastructure development projects in presence of Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte, MLAs Phosum Khimhun and Wanglam Sawin, Changlang DC Sunny K Singh and SP Mihin Gambo, among others.
Mein said that the state government is working tirelessly with great speed for the all-round development of the state.
Describing the vigour and talent of our youth as unmatched, he said they must imbibe a sense of competition and responsibility in this age of innovation and advanced technology.
He lauded the efforts of various women organizations in fighting against social evils including drug menace in the state.
He exhorted the drug addicts to shun their bad habits and return to the mainstream and become better human beings while stating that the government is serious and determined to curb the problem of drug abuse in the state.
