History cannot be concise to some pages of the history. Any day in the yearly calendar has something to tell us and on this day August 3 may not well be run downed by the cycle of the events those come together to comprise the volumes in history.

Many may have failed to recalled, although it was a school time syllabus at the elementary levels but few must be knowing that, on August 3 in 1492 Christopher Culumbus had kick started his first transatlantic voyage to find out a westward route to India.
He had set sail on this first transatlantic voyage, leaving from Palos, Spain with just three small ships such as Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. And he was one who went down into the history books.

Entertainers across the world must be a bit aware that the American revisionist western Unforgiven had its world premiere, and it later won four Academy Awards, including best director for Clint Eastwood, who also starred in the drama, and best picture. All these on August 3.
Working hard against the Anglo-sexan domination in the field of sports, the American gymnast Marry Lou Retton clinched the Olympic gold in gymnastics in her individual capacity and that was on this day, August 3.

Lo and behold the world was given a huge surprise on August 3 when the United States’s atomic submarine Nautilus passed beneath the thick cap of the North Pole, as an unprecedented feat in the world.
